Pastels and Pink Obsession

I don't know why I've ran away from pink for all this time - this pastel color is absolutely gorgeous. I can honestly say, that this is officially my all-time favorite nail polish. I've mentioned it before in a previous post - but for those of you that are still interested in checking out some more pictures of this beauty - I found the link for you ^_^  Right here lovelies: Paris, Mon-Amour: Pastels are here

As for the ring, long story short: I am not a big fan of bold jewelry but recently my mom and I had a complete splurge moment in Forever 21 and so voila..This is one of the pieces I got. I am a sucker for anything floral - including rings - and this one seemed so romantic and lovely to me. Don't you agree?

ULTRAVIOLENCE - A Review

It's been a while since I posted consistently on my blog - and for that I apologize. I do have a pretty good excuse though: I'm working on a HUGE personal project at the moment that means the entire world to me. And I am hoping - actually I am determined to finish it and have it in my hands by the end of August. Yes I will show you lovely bunch the end results of course. So look out for that :)

That aside, I've been wanting to do this review on Lana Del Rey's new CD called Ultraviolence. Unfortunately I didn't have time to listen to it until now. So here goes nothing!

I've been a big fan of Lana's since I first heard her Born to Die song and then saw the Ride video (the poem in the beginning is just amazing). I like her style because it is very delicate, feminine yet melancholic and classy. She has honestly the most unique voice I've ever heard and I was absolutely obsessed with her music. This being said, I looked forward to her new CD coming out, I had heard the song West Coast which is just pure art if I may say so. So yeah, I was excited to hear more.

Unfortunately, I must admit that I am extremely disappointed by this CD. The songs are very whiny and lack a good chorus and even a memorable sound. I mean the first few songs sound exactly the same - it feels like one big, long ballad. In her first CDs, her melodies had a certain dark and soul-drenching sadness that just struck you right in the heart. Now I feel as if the melodies are very...(pardon me for saying this) but trashy and a bit rodeo (if that makes any sense whatsoever). The only songs I actually like are : Old Money - West Coast - Ultraviolence. I mean - out of 14 songs...to like only 3 is kind of my definition of epic fail. :( So this being said, I truly hope that this is only a passing downer for her - because she is truly a fantastic singer and artist.

I would love to hear what you thought of her CD and what your favorite songs are. Awwwwhh..now I feel bad for just bashing her new songs..But yeah- I cannot lie. There are not great...not great at all. :( Sorry Lana. Still like you though :D

Munich Day 5: I Threw My Heart In The Lake

This is my last and final post in regards to my beautiful trip to Munich. And for those of you wondering, yes - we did stay only 5 days (Thank you - Air Canada of robbing us of 2); but no matter, the vacation was beyond anything I could ever imagine.

So on the fifth and last day, we decided to go to Dachau - the first concentration camp that was opened in Germany. My boyfriend really wanted to see it because it is a big part of history and being a Virgo, he wanted to learn about this place. I, on the other hand, was not very excited at the idea of walking casually on the same ground where many people suffered - to walk in someone's definition of hell. Mind you - historically, it was very interesting and I learned a lot. Still...I could not help but feel sad - not just for the people that lived in Dachau, but for Germany also. Because history, and the past, is still here in the present. I fell madly in love with Germany and I wish that ''Hitler'', ''Nazi'' and ''concentration camp'' wouldn't be the first thing that pops into people's minds when they think of the country and its residents.

After the tour, my bf wanted to lift my spirits up a bit (I was not is such a jolly mood after reading about the horrors that happened in the camp). So took me to a beautiful palace in Munich called Nymphenburg. It was...royal. :-P The art lover and hopeless romantic in me got lost in the architectural beauty of the place. Shortly after, we stayed on the palace grounds and visited the porcelain museum, along with the royal carriages museum.

WARNING: the pictures you are about to see are extremely beautiful and might take your breath away.

After ending our visit, we realized there was still a good amount of time left of our final day and we decided to milk it to the very last drop. So we hoped on the S-bahn again and made our way downtown. We spend the rest of the afternoon and a bit of our evening souvenir shopping in Munich. Walking around aimlessly - discovering treasures left and right. It was so relaxing and beautiful. We ate at the same place as on our first day. :) And overall, I could not be happier about this trip.

In other words, if I were 100% fluent in German I would move to Munich right this instant. I would build a small house somewhere in the woods near the Königssee in Berchtesgaden..I would swim in the lake ever day - and look up at the stars peering through the mountains every night. I would write countless books of poetry - love stories and philosophical quotes..A girl can dream right? Ever since I came back from Germany...returning is all I can think about. It gave me peace...and a whole new love for nature. In other words. I LEFT MY HEART AT THE BOTTOM OF THE KONIGSSEE.

Yummy Face Masks

My face has been acting rather odd lately. I'm not sure what exactly I did to deserve this, but I look like the surface of the moon (A.K.A. filled with tiny ups and downs - if ya know what I mean). So what's the best remedy for your skin acting up? A nice, deep cleansing and soothing mask of course!

Now you know I'm a huge fan of the brand Montagne Jeunesse, I've been using it since I was 17, yet I still haven't tried out all of their masks. It is a great deal of fun browsing through their wide selection of yummy mud: with different scents and colors, different promises and removal methods. I swear I could never get tired of this! Such a girly girl I know. :-P

This time around, I ended up with two at the check-out counter and here they are:
The first one is this thick mask with Aloe Vera and Willow for Blemish-Prone Skin. I don't remember if I've tried this one before but meh - even so - I'm sure it will be lovely. I am saving it for a mega pamper session. ^_^
The second one I actually tried and adored: it is the Manuka Honey Peel Off Mask with honey and jasmine. Seriously you guys - this is THE one. Meaning the one I will stock up on and use religiously every 2-3 weeks. Exhibit A: I am obsessed with peel -ff masks because I can actually feel them removing all the dirt and oil and other nasty things on my face. It leaves your skin free-fresh-soft and brand new (at least that's how it feels like to me). Second: This mask is exactly like honey - imagine honey. Got it? Well that's it! The mask is a very clear, a bit sticky, yellow looking gel. I cannot describe it better than smearing honey all over your face. So awesome! Third: the scent is just divine! I mean hellooo honey and jasmine! Yep it smells THAT good. And lat but not least: this thing works! It leaves your skin super duper soft and fresh. The blemishes disappeared like magic the next day. Trust. So honestly - what more could I ever ask for. You guys need to try this one out - if you haven't yet. :) Enjoy your summer bella!!!!

So Good Jewelry

Well guess who is extremely happy after Germany took home the cup? Yep! It was such an intense game you guys - woah. That being said, I hope you had a wonderful weekend and that you are fully enjoying your summer. In today's post, I wanted to show you some cute dainty jewelry my dear mommy got me not too long ago. I find dainty pieces to be perfect throughout the year but more specifically in summer. With the sun burning and the excessive spaghetti-straps all over the place - what could be more perfect than a tiny bling around your neck? It just adds a little delicate, feminine flare without being in your face and let's face it, less heavy. I mean you want to move and have fun right? And maybe it's just me but a chunky statement necklace isn't very flattering with a bikini :-P
So all of these pieces are from the brand So Good - it's the fist time I hear of them but so far their jewelry seems to be quite sturdy and beautiful. This little seahorse is just adorable and fits well with the summer/beach/sea theme.
The next two items are related to my Chinese astrology sign: the horse. :) I find these dangle earring and the sparkly necklace so adorable!

What about you? Have any favorite jewelry pieces you've been wearing non-stop this summer? I would love to hear what your preferences are: dainty or bold?

Dirty Pink - Such a Romantic

(First off I would like to start this post by saying a HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to GERMANY for the win today!!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤ Go Deutschland!!❤❤❤❤❤❤ )

It's been far too long since I've posted some nail pictures on my blog don't you think? Lately I've been so into pastels and different shades of pink for some weird reason. I am just drawn to these colors like crazy. It must be the hopeless romantic in me I guess :-P There is something so feminine and yet still strong about dirty pinks. Or is it just me? I found this lovely color by Sally Hansen - Insta-Dry in the shade 160 Mauve It and I've been rocking it on my nails for about a week now. Still no chips in sight and no top coat required. It is the first time I try a so-called ''nude'' color - it almost matches my skin which I thought was a bit off-putting at first but now I can't get enough of it! To me it looks so classy and elegant - with a small touch of feminine and romantic.

What do you think? Too pink? I would like to hear what is your go-to color for this summer? ^_^
